  14. WinSpell is a Windows spelling supervisor which can check your
  15. spelling three different ways.
  16.  
  17.     1) WinSpell acts in real-time, as you type.  While typing,
  18.        WinSpell will notify you as soon as you misspell a word.
  19.  
  20.     2) WinSpell spell checks files such as Windows Write files and ASCII
  21.        text files.
  22.  
  23.     3) WinSpell checks the spelling of information copied to the
  24.        Clipboard.
  25.  
  26. These three modes of WinSpell allow you to check your spelling in
  27. virtually any Windows application, including DOS based applications
  28. running in a window, spreadsheets, telecommunication packages, etc.

  58. WinSpell is ShareWare and as such, you have certain obligations to
  59. register WinSpell if you use it past the initial evaluation period.

  63. In order to install this evaluation version:
  64.  
  65.   1)  Expand the (compressed) archive file:
  66.  
  67.          pkunzip winspell
  68.  
  69.   2)  Run the Installation script (batch file) from floppy:
  70.  
  71.          install [drive:]path
  72.  
  73.       where drive represents the hard disk on which WinSpell should
  74.       be installed and path represents the directory in which WinSpell
  75.       should be placed.
  76.  
  77.       Note that if you expand the archive file to your hard disk, your
  78.       installation is essentially complete.  You need not run the
  79.       INSTALL.BAT script.  Simply add the directory in which you
  80.       placed WinSpell to your DOS PATH.  See your DOS manual for details
  81.       on the PATH environmental variable.

  83.   3)  Follow remaining instructions as specified by the installation
  84.       script.

  86. The following is an explanation for each file:
  87.  
  88.     WINSPELL.EXE - WinSpell's main executable.  This is the file that
  89.                    you will want to add to your program manager in
  90.                    Windows, or have Windows load via the "load=" option
  91.                    in WIN.INI.
  92.  
  93.                    WINSPELL.EXE is required for proper operation.
  94.  
  95.     HOOK.DLL     - WinSpell's dynamic link library.
  96.  
  97.                    HOOK.DLL is required for proper operation.
  98.  
  99.     WINSPELL.HLP - WinSpell's Help file for use in Windows Help.
  100.  
  101.                    WINSPELL.HLP is not required for proper operation.

  140. One note; a minor bug has been identified in the demonstration version of
  141. WinSpell which causes a (completely harmless) error message which informs
  142. you that there has been a file read error if you type a word that is not 
  143. in the common dictionary during a file or Clipboard check.  This bug does 
  144. not exist in the registered version of WinSpell.  What the error message 
  145. tells you is that the word is not spelled correctly as far as the common 
  146. dictionary is concerned.  You will need to check that word later after 
  147. the file or clipboard check is complete.
